朱雀橋邊野草花，
烏衣巷口夕陽斜。
舊時王謝堂前燕，
飛入尋常百姓家。

There beside the Reel Bird Bridge,
grasses and flowers growing wild;
Across the entrance to Black Clothes Lane,
the slanting evening sun.
There were stately halls here once
but the swallows in front of them
Now have ordinary commoners’ homes
to fly into instead.
